<a href="http://DividingWord.com">DividingWord.com</a>

I would like to point out that the King James Bible, revered by so many of my fellow-Christians, was not *translated* by King James, but merely the translation work was authorized (officially permitted) by him and was funded by him, and the translators dedicated the finished work to him (naturally, as he was both their patron and their king). King James *did* provide guidelines for the translators, which you can see here
had little (if anything) to do with altering the meaning of the translation, other than the retention of dated but traditional words when more modern words might be more precise to the understanding of a modern reader. However, it should be noted that these "dated" words were first used (in a bible) less than 100 years previously.

King James, by the way, is also widely believed by historians to have been a **********. Despite this, the King James Bible strenuously condemns and prohibits homosexuality. It would appear that King James had little (if any) influence on the details included in the final published translation.

'cause in the Bible, diviners are "not suffered to live" in Israel. Witch hunting was application of that rule.
