An evil *** King?

Somehow that seems like an oxymoron, but I suppose it could be true. Maybe he was evil because he was in the closet and back in those days being *** was really a big no-no - especially for the English. I suspect their arch rivals, the French, didn't much give a rat's backside by then.

Anyhow, I don't know why it should matter. It certainly means nothing to me.

Most negative posts on here are extremely shallow. They are mostly meaningless.

King James Bible

Because...

King James I of England convened the Hampton Court Conference where a new English version was conceived in response to the perceived problems of the earlier translations.

The king gave the translators instructions designed to guarantee that the new version would conform to the ecclesiology and reflect the episcopal structure of the Church of England and its beliefs about an ordained clergy

The text was authorized" by Act of Parliament.

As for him being gay: The personal relationships of James I of England included relationships with his male courtiers: Esmé Stewart, 1st Duke of Lennox, Robert Carr, 1st Earl of Somerset, and George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham

www.DividingWord.com

so why bible talk about he ?
why the bible Describes what he did?

2 Samuel 1

23"Saul and Jonathan, beloved and pleasant in their life,
         And in their death they were not parted;
         (AD)They were swifter than eagles,
         (AE)They were stronger than lions.

26"I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan;
         You have been very pleasant to me.
         (AG)Your love to me was more wonderful
         Than the love of women.

I don't know if he was gay, but he was a total hooligan, by all accounts. He gave the order for the Bible to be translated, but that was his only contribution to the faith. His lifestyle does not matter.
